How do I apply to join Community Solar?

Joining Altus Power Community Solar is easy and takes less than 10 minutes. Follow the steps below to submit your application.

1. Create an Account
First, visit join.altuspower.com to create an account and check your eligibility. Eligibility depends on zip code and electric utility provider.

If we have a solar farm near you, you'll be prompted to continue the application. If not, you'll be asked to join our Waitlist — we highly recommend joining the Waitlist because Community Solar is growing quickly and we may be coming to your zip code or utility zone next! We'll keep you in the loop via email.

2. Upload a Copy of Your Utility Bill
After entering some basic contact information, you'll be asked to upload a copy of your electric utility bill. This information is used to lock in your solar savings, as the size of your Community Solar subscription is based on your household's annual energy usage. If you need help uploading your bill, we can help.

3.  Add Payment Information (If Required)
If your state and utility provider participate in Utility Consolidated Billing, you will not be asked to enter a payment method because your solar savings will be deducted directly from your monthly electricity bill. If your state and utility provider participate in Standard Dual Billing, you'll be asked to enter a payment method. This is because Altus Power will send you a separate invoice each month for the value of your solar credits at a fixed discount. You can read more about Community Solar billing here.

4. Submit Your Application
After you have completed all required information in the application, press the green "Submit Application" button. Our team will review your application and let you know if we're missing anything or need additional information. We'll keep you posted on the status of your application via email, so look out for messages from hello@altuspower.com.
