What if I want to cancel my Community Solar subscription?

Canceling your Community Solar subscription is easy and free — there are no penalties for cancelling and you can cancel at any time, for any reason.


  • If you would like to cancel your Community Solar subscription, please fill out the Cancellation Request Form. If you are moving and would like to transfer your solar savings to your new home, please select "I'm Moving" and tell us which state you are moving to. If we are able to transfer your account, someone from our Customer Experience Team will get in touch to begin that process. If we are unable to transfer your subscription or you do not wish to transfer it, we will begin the cancellation process.
  • If you have requested to cancel, we will initiate the cancellation process to remove your account from the project list. This requires action from your utility company and can take a few billing periods for the utility to fully process your cancelation. If you have more than one active subscription, we may reach out to you directly to confirm which one you are requesting to cancel.
  • You may continue to receive solar credits on your utility bill for 2-3 billing cycles as the remainder of the solar credits generated by your subscription are distributed to your account, or until your utility account is finaled — which ever comes first. If you receive monthly invoices from Altus Power, you may receive 2-3 more invoices for the value of those credits at your discounted rate.
  • Any excess or banked solar credits on your account will automatically be applied to future bills. Banked solar credits will not expire.
