Why do you need my electricity bill?

During the Community Solar application process, we'll ask for a copy of your most recent electric utility bill. This information is used to lock in your solar savings, as the size of your Community Solar subscription is based on your household's annual energy usage.

When uploading your bill to your application, please make sure the account number and energy usage for that period (kWh) are clear and legible. We also need to see your annual usage, which is typically depicted in a graph or chart.

To upload your bill, you can either click on the words "Click to upload your utility bill" OR you may drag and drop the file from your desktop computer into the box provided. Our system will accept most common file types including PDF, jpeg or png. You may upload multiple pages.

If you are unable to upload your bill, you may email a copy to hello@altuspower.com or text a picture or screen shot of your bill to 203-445-5738. Where to Find Your Utility Bill
Need help locating your electricity bill online or saving a copy to your computer or phone? Here are some steps you can take:

  • Visit the website of your utility provider and log in to your account. Navigate to the section related to billing and look for the words "View Bill" or "Download Bill." You can save a copy to your computer or phone as a PDF or jpeg, or you can take a screenshot of the bill if you'd prefer. Just make sure your account number and energy usage for that period (kWh) are clear and legible.
  • Another option is to print a copy of your electricity bill at home, and take a photo of it with your tablet or mobile device. Once you have a picture of it on your camera roll, you can either attach it to an email or text it to us.
  • If you don't have an online utility account or you're unable to log in, you can take a picture of the bill that is mailed to you or you can scan it.
  • If none of these options are available to you, you can try emailing or calling your utility provider to request a copy of your bill via email or regular mail.
